McWilliams, Kingsford-Smith, Ulm and Litchfield

1928

L-R Thomas McWilliams, Charles Kingsford Smith, Charles Ulm & Harold Litchfield. This photo was taken outside the house of Ernest and Sybil Boulton, Christchurch who were the owners of the United Service Hotel, Cathedral Square from the mid 1920's to early 1940's. Presumably they were staying at the hotel. Probably taken in 1928 after their Trans-Tasman flight, exact date of photo not known but it used to hang inside the United Services Hotel.

Creator: Image provided by Adrian Boulton grandson of the hotel's owner. (Photo was behind glass)
