Contributor's note: A duck with her ducklings at the Ilex Cafe in the Christchurch Botanic Gardens. Mother duck had her work cut out for her, rounding up all her ducklings, as the chicks were constantly hunting out scraps fallen from tables; cafe patrons were constantly on the lookout to make sure they were not inadvertently stepping on the chicks.
