Michael Linton at Oceania MathsJam Gathering 2021

31 July 2021 to 1 August 2021

Michael Linton, keynote speaker at the Oceania MathsJam Gathering 2021.

Contributors note: "Keynote speaker for the Oceania MathsJam Gathering 2021 recreational maths conference, Michael Linton. In his talk Michael showcased a number of mathematical curiosities, including an 8x8x8 magic cube (which he is holding in the photo), Tri-Alphametic puzzles, Factor One (the peg board to his right, which makes use of human pattern recognition to assist in factoring numbers), and the mathematics of the Ulam spiral (shown to his left). OMG21 was held in Michael's 1066 Medieval Mosaic building in Geraldine, Canterbury, where he houses his world record holding 1066 Bayeux Tapestry, made using ~3 million pieces of spring steel from knitting machine wheels."
