December 1959

Akaroa waterfront, sandy beach. December 1959, during my house party at Hawkin's Bach. 9 happy young people from Christchurch, enjoying the Canterbury summer sun. On sand from left - Ian Willetts (partly obscured), Jill Edwards, Dawn Forde, Jan Begg, then 3 sitting on a deck - Colleen Hoult, John Whitehead and Geoff Dowland. Forefront, on sand - Howard Lowe and Ken McClelland. We had never heard of melanoma in 1959!
