Home of Henry Fisher, well-known art gallery owner in Christchurch, who died in 1932. Miowera was situated on the south-west corner of Kilmarnock & Darvel Streets. Now replaced by modern townhouses. Postcard.
Transcript - "Miowera" was the name of a ship.
House on SW corner of Kilmarnock & Darvel Streets, Riccarton.
Home of J. Henry Fisher & his wife Prudence Leah nee Hean.
Harry Fisher d. 1923.
He owned an art gallery.
His son John Henry Fisher married Alice Jane Harrison.
John Henry's 1st cousin lived in Darvel St (North East side)
(now part of grounds of the Chateau Commodore Hotel)
John Henrys great grand daughter is Dianne Poore of Tai Tapu.
Robert Hean's grandson is David R. Hean
