Bob Bradford Big Band Carlton Hotel

1975-76

Dad lived for his music. A few years after playing at the Winter Garden in around 1975/76 his band played at the Carlton Hotel which was on the corner of Bealey Avenue & Papanui Road every Tuesday night. Whilst there a good friend of his recorded his music which was subsequently put on vinyl.

Thank you so much for sharing this. Bob Bradford was my Great Uncle. His brother, George Bradford, was my grandfather. It's great to see photos like this, particularly since I am a musician too. I've been with the Australian Army Band Corps for about 35 years. I live in Adelaide, Australia now, but spent my first few years in Dunedin, with my mother, brother and dad, Kevin (son of George). Thank you for sharing your memories.
