North East Christchurch Energy Group Protest
North East Christchurch Energy Group Protest
In '79 the National Government introduced a 60 percent increase in the price of bulk electricity. As a result household power bills doubled. Outside a national electricity/energy conference at the Christchurch Town Hall, the NORTH EAST CHRISTCHURCH ENERGY GROUP holds a counter public meeting promoting alternative information and views regarding electricity generation and user prices.
Michael McNabb, aged 33, (husband, and father of four) raises aloft a sign in response to the question: "Is it right or wrong that families are subsidising the cost of power in order for trans-national companies to pay less?"
